This was her last chance.

Her hand twisted high in the air.

When fifteen-year-old Esme Silver objects at her father’s wedding, her protest is dismissed as the action of a stubborn, selfish teenager. Everyone else has accepted the loss of Esme’s mother – so why can’t she?

But Esme is suspicious. She is sure that others are covering up the real reason for her mother’s disappearance – that ‘lost at sea’ is code for something more terrible, something she has a right to know.

After Esme is accidentally swept into the enchanted world of Aeolia, the truth begins to unfold. With her newfound friends, Daniel and Lillian, Esme retraces her mother’s steps in the glittering canal city of Esperance, untangling the threads of Ariane’s double life. But the more Esme discovers about her mother, the more she questions whether she really knew her at all.

A mother lost at sea. A daughter seeking for the truth. A fantastical spellbinding story begins. With twists of mystery and epic new world to explore. This is a book you definitely need to follow through and love every turn this gives.

One thing to really anticipate for this book is the great detail describing the world of Esperance. Elizabeth made me fall in love with this new exciting world. I like her writing style. She delivers every word in a perfectly good way. And I really love ESPERANCE. I tried to google it and somehow always brings me to match the word with hope. Well, I think that suited the story or even the place where Esme will embark in the hope of finding her mother. Nice choice of name of the place.

This book is not your typical fantasy tale but a very fascinating one which much likely to explore more at every chapter and eventually unfolds every piece of the puzzle and mystery of the whole thing. Likely about Esme’s mother disappearance and the world she unexpectedly transported with. New character involvement – speaking of, Daniel and Lillian, whom will help Esme in her journey. Dragons – yeah, this book will be talking about those beautiful creatures and such other strange ones.

Indeed, this debut book is an intriguing and gripping tale to read if you’re into a daughter-mother relationship with what extent can a love brings in finding the truth. And another way around. Also, for the touch of magic within those pages. I recommend this highly to every reader who will cross on this book.

    1. Thank you! 😍
Though, this is not the first book I have read with that mythical creature, still dragon is one of my fave beast that if real world could offer to me I would gladly have it – assuming the kind one hahaha 😅😂😁

  1. After reading this review, I tried to google Esperance too and I was greeted my amazing pictures of beaches and ocean. Huhuhu. I didn’t know it was a name of a real place, so beautiful! *goes to add Esperance to the neverending list of places to visit*

Thank you for signing up! And great review as always! It didn’t occur to me to look into the origin of the word Esperance, but wow, what a revelation! Hoping to still have your support and energy in future blogging projects. 😊
