Finals week is gone and I’m back! Hello, hello 😀
Now, let me give my thoughts about this book that has a realm of magic.
Let me present to you, Heart of Mist by Helen Scheuerer. Book one in The Oremere Chronicles. Don’t forget to join the giveaway too below. And, good luck 🙂
In a realm where toxic mist sweeps the lands and magic is forbidden, all Bleak wants is a cure for her power.
Still grieving the death of her guardian and dangerously self-medicating with alcohol, Bleak is snatched from her home by the Commander of the King’s Army, and summoned to the capital.
But the king isn’t the only one interested in Bleak’s powers.
The leader of an infamous society of warriors, the Valia Kindred, lays claim to her as well, and Bleak finds herself in the middle of a much bigger battle than she anticipated.
That mystical trance, I’ve experienced the moment the words surge in, impaling me on the spot.
This book really tamed my heart and soul. The captivating mixture of magic, enchantment, and power, all merged up into this. As for what fantasy book can give, this is another way that will give you pleasure and all around the course of spellbinding. One of the books, you can’t imagine how good it is.
Did I say, this promote how alcoholism can be of sought to an addiction of oneself? Yeah, you hear me. As for what it been obviously entailed with our heroine, Bleak. Bleak, the Ashai folk, obtaining a power, she, herself can’t control and won’t want to have. She had to take a swing of alcohol every time just to avoid the searing pain her most hated power within gives. Too much of a sorrow her character endures. I just hated it that she wasted herself for such thing drawing her much for alcohol. For myself, as I’m not an alcoholic person, alcohol really is not the answer to the most problems. Anyway, Bleak has her own reasons and I respected that in a personal way. Also, I like how Helen focuses on this one.
The bold feminism withstands too in this story. Those Valian warriors. I like them especially, Henri and Athene.
There are so many characters here to like. The turns and twist. Fast-paced. This book is well executed. Nicely done and I congratulate Helen for that. What a debut novel to read this whole journey. Sure I’ll gonna wait for the sequel in The Oremere Chronicles. As I’m a bit hung up there from the last page.
